“The Epidemic”: Manufacturing jobs once held out a promise of a middle class life for those with a high school education. With five million jobs disappearing since 2000, drug, alcohol, and suicide deaths have swept across working class white America.

AMERICA DIVIDED explores inequality in education, housing, healthcare, labor, criminal justice and the political system. The series exposes the damage inequality inflicts on the most vulnerable Americans by revealing systemic bias and celebrating heroes fighting for solutions.

AMERICA DIVIDED illustrates what inequality looks like in people’s everyday lives.
