Housing Program

ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)
The Energy Assistance Program provides assistance for low income households in Itasca and Koochiching Counties with their home energy needs. Households who are at or below 50% of the state median income or 110% of poverty, whichever is greater, are eligible. The program year begins October 1st and ends May 31st.

Services include:

Provide direct payment to the energy vendor
Advocate with energy vendors and human service providers on behalf of consumers
Crisis help for fuel deliveries and utility disconnections
Emergency heating system repair or replacement

In order to be eligible your income must not exceed these income guidelines for three months:
For each additional household member add $4,114.00 to annual income or $1,028.00 to 3-month income.

A new application must be completed, dated and signed in order to receive Energy Assistance

A new application must be submitted for each program year (October 1st to May 31st) to KOOTASCA Energy Assistance Program (EAP) at 1213 SE 2nd Avenue, Grand Rapids, MN 55744.
