  Circles of Support

Are you and your family living in poverty? Do you want to get out of poverty?

Circles help people build friendships

Circles helps people build friendships across class and race lines to help people meet their goals. Three volunteers from the community called allies, and one individual or family make up a Circle. Circle members attend a meeting each week and have supper together. Child care is also provided.

Through Circles people have access to many community resources through the friendships they make. Circles is for people who really want to work hard to change their life and get out of poverty. Each participant will set their own goals in the areas of income and budgeting, academics and training, and friends and meaning.

Circles is not for people who are in crisis or people who don’t want to be employed or get more training and education. Circles is not a "hand out" it is a "hand up". Hard work, communication, and meeting attendance is expected.
