MISSION: Building COMMUNITY to end POVERTY

Kootasca Community Action is a non profit human service agency serving Itasca and Koochiching counties in Northern Minnesota. We serve low-income people providing ways for families to ge connected to the community with a plan to get out of poverty.

VISION for our communities by 2024:

• All people are valued regardless of race or socio-economic status
• Systems are just, non-discriminatory, and fair to all community members
• Community members are trained, supported and lead the on-going development of their community
• Education prepares all children to fulfi ll their potential and secure their future
• All people live in safe, decent, affordable housing
• Poverty does not exist in Koochiching and Itasca counties

• That creating a strong, healthy economy where everyone prospers requires responsible planning and public/private partnerships today;
